Description

Woodring is a mountain hideaway, offering well-kept campgrounds and an overall quiet experience. Found in the heart of the north Georgia mountains, Woodring is a great spot for a day hike or multi-day hiking expedition. The campground is also conveniently located on Carter Lake, which makes it perfect for guests looking to drop anchor or have a swim. Canines will have a field day with the miles of open areas and endless trails.

Forty-three sites populate Woodring, all of which can be reserved up to 2 months in advance. Guests can choose from primitive, tent-only sites or a few types of electrified sites. Prices vary depending on the scenery, so it's always a good idea to call ahead if you want to save some dollars. Laundry amenities can be found on-site, as well as modern restrooms and coin-operated showers. Fido can be a camper too, provided they avoid bothering other guests. Outdoor leash staking isn't allowed in Woodring.

Woodring also hosts visitors with boats, offering two boat ramps that are free for campers. Registration is required for all boats and can be purchased at most local sporting goods stores. There's also limited space for mooring your vessel, but these spots fill up quickly during the warmer months, so make sure to call ahead if you plan on parking your boat.

Guests to Woodring should always follow best practices when bringing Fido along. The waters of Carter Lake are available for dogs to splash around in as long as they're supervised and are kept clear of the public swimming areas. All parts of the trail network are also open to dogs as long as their owners collect and properly dispose of all waste left on the ground. Leashes are an absolute must and should be six feet or shorter. In the campground, canine companions need to be either caged or leashed and kept in guests' tents or RVs.

Wag! does not allow or encourage Pet Care Providers to bring dogs to parks.
