Bark Park - Ridgefield

The Bark Park is a dog park in Ridgefield, Connecticut. It's a super space, one and a half acres in total, for exercising dogs off-leash. This dog park, which has a parking lot conveniently situated by the entrance gates, has a real country farm-style look to it. It's been fenced with split timber rails all around, though as these are quite open, the small breed section has been covered with wire mesh to prevent any mischievous mini canines from escaping.

While the ground of the Ridgefield Bark Park does incorporate a hilly area, the slope is gentle, and so even old dogs with restricted mobility wouldn't find it difficult to climb or roam about. There's also a group of trees in one corner with large boulders strewn between them which are ideal for pups to scamper over. 

The off-leash areas are surfaced with grass, dirt, and bark chippings, which are suitable for dog parks as they don't cause damage to a dog's paws. Apart from these two amazing areas, there's also another two smaller sections reserved especially for dog training. Pet owners have been well looked after too with the provision of a couple of rustic pavilions with brick tiled floors and wooden seats.

This off-leash dog park in Ridgefield is supervised by ROAR, the Ridgefield Operation for Animal Rescue and is kept in tip-top condition. There are lots of poop bags provided, on-site dumpsters and water spigots. A special dog wash station has been installed so dogs that get grubby while playing can be hosed down before going home. 

To use the dog park dogs need to have had all their vaccinations and to have a current license, which for getting the chance to let a dog off its leash in such a great environment, isn't a lot to ask. There is a two dogs per owner limit in place for this dog park, and all handlers need to be over sixteen years of age.
