Barnacle Historic State Park

The Barnacle Historic State Park is best known for the historic, and whimsical coconut grove home nestled into the property. Historic House tours are offered, where you can learn more about this home built in 1891 and frontier life during the Era of the Bay. While only service dogs are allowed inside the building, the house, along with replica sailboats, are a sight to see from the outside as well. You are your pooch are sure to enjoy exploring the surrounding 5 acre property! 

The home's original owner, Ralph Munroe, preserved the forest on his land, and as a result, the property contains a lush, mangrove forest with large, old trees. These tropical trees with tangled roots are a beautiful sight along the Biscayne Bay. You can enjoy exploring this area by means of the tree-lined paths, just pawfect for a jog or a stroll with your best pal. 

This scenic park is often used for weddings, picnicking, birding, and geo-seeking. It's a great place to check out whether you want to commune with nature, learn something about Florida's past, or simply watch the sailboats pass by on the Biscayne Bay with your canine companion. The park also hosts a variety of family friendly events, such as Shakespeare in the Park. No matter your activity of choice, your fur-baby is sure to enjoy the extra quality time with their human. 

Well-behaved doggos are allowed to join in on the fun here, as long as a couple ground rules are followed. Please keep your pupper on a hand-held leash no longer than six feet, and make sure Fido is picked up after at all times. By following these rules, the Barnacle Historic State Park can remain a clean and safe sanctuary for all to enjoy.
