Description

On the stunning Oregon Coast, just south of Coos Bay and only two miles north of Bandon, Bullards Beach State Park is large, family-friendly and has plenty of room for all kinds of outdoor fun for the whole family, including your furvorite doggo. In addition to its ocean access, Bullards Beach State Park hugs a section of the Coquille River and includes grassy fields, lowland forest, and sandy dunes.

On the other side of the river, Bandon Marsh National Wildlife Refuge is home to a wide variety of wildlife. Bullards Beach State Park has a long list of things to do for the whole family. From camping and boating to horseback riding, this Oregon state park has it all. Got a hiker on your hands? Check out the 10 trails ranging in length from 0.3 to 2.3 miles through various terrain that's sure to excite your adventure pup.

For overnight guests, Bullards Beach State Park has a campground with 103 campsites with full hookups, and 82 with electricity and water hookups. There are 13 yurts (six that are pet-friendly), a primitive equestrian camp, and a hiker/biker camp. The park has an RV dump station and hot showers. While the day use areas of the park are free to use, fees do apply for overnight guests.

In addition to camping, guests can explore 4.5 miles of beach, hike or ride bikes, or take a walk on the partially paved path. At the end of Bullards Beach Road, the historic Coquille River Lighthouse is open May through September for guided historical tours.

Best of all, your dog can romp on the beach off leash! That's right, so long as they are under voice command and always in your sight, your pup can kick up the sand and splash in the Pacific Ocean in utter freedom. Be sure you put the leash back on when exploring the rest of the park, though, including in the campsites. Bring all the essentials for a puptastic adventure, including water to share and clean-up bags, and always pick up whatever your pup lays down. Though this beach is outside the area for western snowy plovers, if you see these endangered birds nesting on the beach, steer clear and keep your dog restrained.

For a gorgeous beach and park, your and your pup will love the Bullards Beach State Park.
