Curtis Hixon Waterfront Dog Park

The Curtis Hixon Waterfront Dog Park is located in Tampa, Florida. Visitors to this beautiful park space praise its central location in the downtown Tampa core. This dedicated dog facility offers two fully fenced areas suitable for off-leash play. Since small, timid, and elderly dogs often benefit from a space of their own where a play style better suited to their needs is adopted, one enclosure has been set aside exclusively for their use. 

Owners are required to carefully monitor all play time and to keep a leash with them. Florida state law requires that all dogs must be leashed when not in a designated off-leash zone. The Curtis Hixon Waterfront Dog Park is a public dog playground. To encourage all owners and their dogs to enjoy the facility, entrance to the park is offered free of charge. However, owners should note that there is a $5 parking fee. 

The dog runs are well-stocked with many different amenities. Housed within the runs is a dog fountain which provides fresh drinking water for all dogs to enjoy. Also installed in the play areas is agility equipment. Poop bags are available via on-site dispensers. Owners are to assume all responsibility for pet waste cleanup and removal. The property offers stunning views of the Hillsborough River as well as a Pirate Water Taxi to ferry families to different nearby destinations. Also available at this park are walking trails, bike rentals, a concession stand, a playground, and a water feature called Mist Mountain for children to enjoy. 

In accordance with Florida state legislation, all dogs enjoying the Curtis Hixon Waterfront Dog Park must be current on vaccinations. A city dog license is also required.
