Dinosaur Caves Park

The Dinosaur Caves Park is an 11-acre paradise with an ocean view. Whether you come here to jog, play with your kids, or enjoy some outdoor time with your pooch, this park offers numerous features and amenities. If you're wondering what's with the dinosaur caves name, then allows us to clear things up. 

A long time ago, Douglas Brown started the construction of a big dinosaur on this site. Its purpose was to offer access to the cave that was under the park. Unfortunately, in 1960 the dinosaur burned down and the cave collapsed ten years later. The City of Pismo Beach bought the property in 1992 and built the park that you see now. 

The play area of the Dinosaur Caves Park is located right in the center. This fun spot is filled with sand and features two concrete dolphins, an Orca whale named Oreo, three dinosaurs' cracked eggs, as well as three seals and one dinosaur. Children always have lots of fun here, as they can play and climb on the sea mammals. 

The park also features a trail area, ideal for morning jogs or long walks with your dog. The stunning vistas will make your walk even more enjoyable. Plus, you also get the chance to watch many species of birds, as they land on Brown's Rock - located at the south side of the Dinosaur Caves Park. There are benches and shaded areas throughout the park. 

You can sit down, relax and talk to other dog owners while your furry friend runs around and enjoys the outdoors. Keep in mind that cleaning after your dog is important. Potty bags are not available at the park, so make sure you have one in your pocket. Whether you want to relax, take a walk with Fido, jog or make a sand castle with your kids, Dinosaur Caves Park is the perfect outdoor escape for everyone!
