Dolliver Memorial State Park

Dolliver Memorial State Park encompasses a total area of 600 acres of land near Fort Dodge and Lehigh City, Webster County, Iowa. Lehigh city can be found about three miles southeast of the park while Fort Dodge is approximately 10 miles north of the park. If you want to get to the park, you can use IA-50 to access the park.

Some of the significant features within the park that draw a lot of attention to nature enthusiasts include canyons, Prairie Creek, bluffs (including a 100-foot bluff on Prairie Creek), and the Des Moines River. Additionally, the park has a cultural attraction due to the presence of ancient Native American burial mounds. 

Furthermore, Dolliver Memorial State Park is listed in the National Register of Historic Places due to two main listings within the park that include the Dolliver Memorial State Park, Entrance Area (area A) and Dolliver Memorial State Park, Picnic, Hiking & Maintenance Area (area B).

Other attractions to the park include hiking, camping, boating, and fishing. The amenities within the park to facilitate these activities include several campsites (with restrooms, electrical hookups, and showers), group camp (with 10 sleeping cabins, modern restrooms, showers and dining hall), family rental cabin, open picnic shelter, picnic areas, two day-use lodges, playground, hiking trail, and a boat ramp.

If you have a dog, you are welcome to bring him to the park at no extra cost. If you bring your dog, you should be aware that keeping your dog on a leash with a maximum length of six feet is expected of you. You are also expected to maintain immediate control of your pooch and you should not let your dog wander around the park aimlessly. If you want to camp at the park, you should be aware that there is a two-dog limit for every dog-designated yurt or cabin.
