Frazier Neighborhood Dog Park

The Frazier Neighbourhood Dog Park is part of the Frazier Park in the city of Charlotte, North Carolina that has been set aside for exercising dogs off-leash. Dogs are also welcome in the main park if they remain on their leashes. Vehicle parking can be troublesome for visitors to this dog park in Charlotte. There are just a few spaces on the side of the road next to the dog park, and these are often occupied.

This off-leash area for dogs in Charlotte is enclosed with metal railings and chain mesh fencing. It also has gated staging areas as well as a cordoned off section for small dogs. Puppies must be over four months of age before being exercised here. The off-leash area for large dogs occupies most of the one and a half acre space.

The big pup zone has a surface of dirt and stones with just a few patches of grass. The small dog area has a covering of natural grass. Both parts of the dog park are bordered by an abundance of trees and bushes. There are water spigots in the off-leash areas and during the summer months paddling pools are provided for dogs to splash in.

Pet owners using the facility should be aware that children under the age of twelve are not allowed inside the dog park. Owners need to stay with their dogs the whole time they are in the off-leash area and should keep them under proper control both visually and vocally. Dog treats can be taken inside, but no other food or drink is permitted. 

The Charlotte local authorities require all dogs to be licensed and correctly vaccinated, including for rabies, and wear the corresponding tags on their collars. Poop bags are available in both areas of the dog park, and owners are cordially reminded they are obliged to remove all fecal matter produced by their dog and dispose of it responsibly in the containers provided.
