Description

Around crystal clear Lake Sammamish, not too far from Seattle, four Native American tribes have used this beautiful land to gather. The Lake Sammamish State Park at the southern tip of the lake features 531 areas of this culturally significant place for all to enjoy. With plenty of outdoor recreational opportunities, this park welcomes families and their pups to experience all that this pawmazing land has to offer.

For the land rovers, a combined 3 miles of hiking and biking trails through wetlands and deciduous forests beckon adventure seekers. Wildlife enthusiasts can try and spot a bald eagle or great blue heron. Over 400 picnic areas can be found throughout the park for a quick rest or outdoor meal along your travels, and some are even equipped with grills. Plan your own get together at one of the three reservable shelters that feature electric and kitchen amenities. For the sporties in your pack, soccer, baseball and softball fields are placed throughout. The little two-leggeds will love the three playgrounds made just for them.

If the water is more your style, this park doesn't disappoint with 6,800 feet of space along Lake Sammamish. Cast a line for some pawtastic freshwater fishing, just be sure to get your license before you come. Two lakefront beaches are available for the humans, but unfurtunately, dogs are prohibited on designated swimming beaches. With boat and watercraft launches, you can bring your water vehicle and spend a day on the lake. Or rent a kayak or paddleboard from the park.

Your adventure pup can join you in all areas of this furbulous park, save for the beaches, but must remain leashed at all times. While there are restrooms for humans located in various areas of the park, you will need to bring clean-up bags for your dog, and always stoop and scoop. Bring all the essentials, including snacks and drinking water for your pup. And be sure your dog is fully vaccinated and licensed with appropriate tags.

You and your pup will love exploring the majesty of northern Washington's spectacular wilderness at the Lake Sammamish State Park!

Wag! does not allow or encourage Pet Care Providers to bring dogs to parks.
