Morningside Dog Park

New York City is busy indeed, but pups will always make time for a trip to Morningside Dog Park! Located inside the long and narrow Morningside Park situated between Manhattan and Harlem, this canine play space is a pawfect getaway from the hustle and bustle of the city.

Set among a swathe of trees and greenery, the dog park is separated into two areas for small and large dogs to play with others of their own size. Once you enter these fenced-in areas, your pup can ditch the leash and run free. Featuring a natural dirt covering, and plenty of shade, its hard to believe city life is just a block away!

The enclosures are built into a hill, and offer railroad ties to help people and doggos keep their footing on a steeper area, although they more often provide an interesting obstacle for the dogs to explore. Water is available for thirsty pups, but bring a bowl for convenience. You can relax under the trees on a bench or picnic table while watching your dog have a blast! 

While there aren't any restrooms for humans at the dog park, you can find them in other areas of Morningside Park. Clean-up bag dispensers are available, so be sure to always pick up after your dog. Nearby trash cans make disposal a breeze! Your dog will love this play space, just be sure they have valid ID and rabies tags on their collars, are fully vaccinated with proof on hand, and wear their leash when entering or exiting the dog run. 

If your pup has gotten their fill of cavorting with neighbor dogs, clip on the leash and take a walk through the rest of lovely Morningside Park. Stretching over 13 blocks, this gem features paths that wind through trees, allow views of flowers, wildlife and crumbling structures of the past, and even lead to a waterfall!
