Nags Head Beach

Nags Head Beach is a beautiful dog-friendly beach playground in Nags Head, North Carolina. This much-loved destination hotspot has earned the distinction of being the #1 area attraction in the historic area of Nags Head. One of several Outer Banks beach properties, this community beach is pleased to offer access to their beach to all dogs year round. Dogs must remain on a lead of no greater than ten feet at all times. 

Nags Head Beach is a public beach, and entrance to the property is permitted free of charge. There is no on-site fenced dog play area, and as such, no amenities are provided for dog use at this beach. Owners must come equipped with all of the things they will need for a day at the beach including lawn chairs, bottled water, a dog dish, and poop bags. 

North Carolina law mandates that all owners must carry a minimum of two poop bags with them at all times and produce them upon request by an Animal Control officer. All canine waste must be properly disposed of. Burying poop bags in the sand is strictly prohibited. Any violation of the North Carolina beach by-laws results in a fine of $100. 

Nags Head Beach boasts of many great attractions for families to enjoy. Looking to get out on the water? Why not try surf fishing? Kids fancying a day of fun? They can choose from go-karting, mini golf, or a variety of ice cream shops and restaurants. Housed nearby are movie theatres, pool halls, and even the only Nags Head bowling alley. 

Other items of interest and historical significance include the Bodie Island Lighthouse, the recently restored Jennette's Pier, the Outer Banks Pier, and the Jockey's River State Park. Nags Head Beach asks that all dogs visiting their beachfront property be current on vaccinations and in possession of a city dog license.
