Old Bethpage Village Restoration Dog Park

The Old Bethpage Village Restoration Dog Park on Long Island is a serene dog run for you and your pup to relax, make friends, and enjoy the weather while sitting in the shade. The dog park is on the grounds of the Old Bethpage Village Restoration, a 19th-century living history museum featuring several historic buildings, crafters and events highlighting life in years gone by. 

While the Village has limited hours of operation and is seasonal, the Dog Run is open everyday, though hours change throughout the week. Found near the entrance to the Village, this is one unique dog hot spot! You'll find some of the basic amenities here that are at many dog parks, such as benches for the pup pawrents and full fencing. There's even separate areas for big dogs over 30 lbs, and small ones that are under. 

What makes this dog run special is what also makes it eco-friendly. Water is provided for thirsty dogs through a filtered rainwater collection system. The dog run is set in a quiet area, so you can relax as you watch your pup get some playtime in. The ground is covered in wood-chips and dirt, and some tall trees provide excellent shade. If that is not enough protection from the sun or elements, you can stand under a small covering if it is raining, just be sure to have a towel in the car for a quick wipe down.

Do bring your own clean-up bags to promptly pick up after your dog. Trash cans are conveniently on site for easy disposal. Be sure your dog is fully vaccinated and wearing their city license tag before visiting, and keep that leash on when entering and exiting the dog park for everyone's safety.
