Oleta River State Park

Oleta River State Park is a dog-friendly popular attraction in South Florida. Visitors can enjoy bicycling, camping, canoeing, kayaking, fishing, gardens, concessions, food, hiking, nature trails, mountain biking, picnicking, swimming and wildlife viewing. Pet parents can take their dog on jogging and hiking trails as long as they are attached to a leash measuring at least six feet long or less. 

Leashed and well-behaved dogs are welcome throughout the park but not allowed near water sources such as the river. Instead, you can enjoy a hike or jog on the many trails that wrap around this beautiful park. You can enjoy the sunshine, cool breeze and natural environment including wildlife. 

Dogs visiting Oleta River State Park need to have a rabies vaccination in case of contact with wild animals in the area. Pet parents are encouraged to keep their dog's vaccinations up-to-date and display rabies and license tags on their dog's collars during their visit to the park. Cleaning up your dog's waste is mandatory at this park. 

Remember to bring along pet waste bags and make sure you throw them away in the available trash cans located throughout the park. Camping at this park is great, and dogs are allowed at the campsite. You need to bring along all of the supplies that are needed for your dog. Your goal is to have a great time camping with your dog but do your best not to interfere with other campers peace and quiet. 

Aggressive dogs are not tolerated at this state park. Pet parents need to remove canines that behave aggressively towards others. You will also need to remove your dog from any situation that involves a confrontation with a wild animal. Overall, Oleta River State Park is a beautiful park that has a great view of the river. It’s an excellent place to relax and escape from busy city life and bond with your dog.
