Pat Bowlsby Dog Park - Waterloo

The Pat Bowlsby Dog Park is a dog park in Waterloo, Iowa, where dogs can be exercised of their leashes. This dog park, which is within the boundaries of the city's Hope Martin Memorial Park, has a parking lot only a five-minute stroll from the designated off-leash area. Keeping dogs on their leashes while walking from the lot to the dog park is a must. 

They will get all the free time they need once inside. This Waterloo dog park is a five-acre spread of grassy parkland which has been conditioned especially for exercising dogs off-leash. A staging area with security gates has been installed and it's well-fenced on all sides. Smaller dogs have their own independent zone for playing in which keeps them from getting under the paws of the big dogs. 

There are some lovely shady trees in the off-leash areas and water fountains which are dog-friendly. Paved pathways run through both sections which means owners do not need to walk across the grass if it is wet after rain. The pathways also lead to the pavilion shelters which have been provided for owners to sit in. This is not a publicly funded dog park. 

The Pat Bowlsby Dog Park relies on donations and annual pooch subscriptions to keep it open. Owners wishing to use this dog park facility in Waterloo must first obtain an entry tag from the Clerk's Office at the Waterloo Town Hall. There is a nominal annual fee of $15 for each dog tag or $2 for a daily pass for visitors. There is a two pup restriction on both registering and exercising dogs here. 

Any donations made privately to help with the Pat Bowlsby Dog Park's upkeep are always very gratefully received. This dog park is eco-friendly, and there are biodegradable poop bags in the off-leash areas. All dog owners using the dog park are also expected to respect the environment and collect all the poop produced by their pooch.
