Description

Pickwick Landing State Park is a beautiful location for water activities and even offers a pet-friendly beach to let your canine splash around on. Situated just a few miles south of Savannah, the 1416-acre park provides plenty of modern amenities. Overnight guests will love Pickwick Landing State Park's 48 total sites.

These each come standard with water and electrical connections, a picnic table, and full grill. Bathrooms and a dump station for RVs can be found immediately south of these sites. There's also the Bruton Branch Recreation Area which offers 33 primitive sites, most of which are located right on the shoreline.

If you're looking to keep a dog with you for your overnight stay make sure they're on a leash, and they stay inside of your tent or RV during the evening. If you're looking to get out on the water, Pickwick Landing has several amenities for boaters. A full-service marina gives guests the chance to refuel or make repairs, while the two free public boat ramps give visitors a chance to drop anchor free of charge.

Boats of all types are welcome here, but during summer hours boats have to be a maximum length of 60 feet. All proper registration must be displayed by any craft looking to hit the water. Boat rentals are also offered for a small additional fee, more information on which is located on the Tennessee State Parks' website.

If you decide to take your canine out on the water, make sure you keep them restrained with a sturdy leash. Canines are barred from entering any indoor areas on park grounds. Pickwick Landing State Park offers visitors three different swimming beaches, all of which are open throughout the summer months.

The Bruton Branch area of the park contains a primitive beach area that offers unsupervised swimming, so remember that guests swim at their own risk here. For something a little more polished, guests can visit either the Circle Beach or Sandy Beach areas that are located in the day-use areas of the park.

Both of these areas at the Pickwick Landing State Park are supervised during swim season, and offer adjacent concession stands for individuals needing a snack. Canines are welcome within the primitive swim areas but are unfortunately forbidden from both of the public swim areas.

Wag! does not allow or encourage Pet Care Providers to bring dogs to parks.
