Lucky pups in northern San Diego have a pupperdise right at their doorstep! The Rancho Penasquitos Linear Dog Park offers a furbulous space to romp and play off leash, conveniently nestled between residential homes and the local library.

You'll find this pup play space along Salmon River Road, where parking is easy in a lot adjacent to the dog park. While your dog should remain on a lead no longer than 8 feet in the parking area, and when entering and exiting the park, once inside the fully fenced-in enclosures, they can run free!

Featuring two separate sections, one for small pups weighing 30 pounds or less, and the other for bigger doggos, the park caters to every size! And with double gated entries, you can feel confident your dog will play in safety. Covered in a mix of grass and dirt, both sections are easy on the paws, but you may want to bring a towel on wet days for a quick wipe-off. 

With plenty of room to run in both areas, your dog is sure to expend some of that energy! Grab a seat on one of the benches and watch your dog have a blast with local canine pals. Though this 1-acre park doesn't have any obstacles, just open spaces, there are often tennis balls and other toys left behind for any dog to enjoy. 

Water bowls are provided, though its unclear if water is on site, so bring some for your thirsty dog. Clean-up bag dispensers are also available, making it easy to promptly pick up whatever your playful pup leaves behind. All dogs are welcome to romp at this furrific park, but they must be up to date on their vaccinations, and wearing a current license tag.
