Table Rock State Park

Table Rock State Park encompasses a total area of 3,083 acres of land in the northern part of Pickens County of South Carolina. One of the significantly unique features of this park is that the tallest mountain (Pinnacle Mountain) which is totally within the state of South Carolina, sits right within this state park as well. 

The park also sits right at the edge of the Blue Ridge Mountains and the towering Table Rock Mountains after which the park is named. According to folklore, the Table Rock Mountain got its name from a Cherokee legend in which the flat-topped mountain was used by the Great Spirit as a table for his meals.

Besides the natural splendor at the park, there are several other features that attract visitors to the park including recreational activities like boating, lake fishing, jet skiing, camping, canoeing, sailing, bicycling, scuba diving, parasailing, swimming, and hiking. 

The facilities within the park that facilitate these activities include picnic sites and picnic shelter, boat rentals, several modern and basic campsites, a marina, hiking and biking trails, personal watercraft rentals, boat ramp, and a store.

As is the case with all other South Carolina State Parks, you are allowed to bring your pooch into the park. If you choose to do so, remember to carry a leash that has a maximum of six feet in length. You may also need to bring with you a secure dog enclosure to confine your dog in when you are not around them. 

In most cases, you are allowed to explore most outdoor areas of the park as long as you maintain immediate control of your dog. Park buildings and areas around park buildings should be avoided.
