Yale Divinity School Dog Park

Yale Divinity School Dog Park is located near to the divinity school campus of this historic New Haven, Connecticut university. Situated on 0.3 acres of land amidst stunning historical homes and meticulously landscaped lawns and gardens is a fenced dog play area. 

Since dogs that are small, shy, or elderly benefit from a play section all of their own, a smaller portion of the large enclosure has been partitioned off for their use. Here, these dogs have the opportunity to play with other dogs that are more size, personality, and age appropriate for them. 

Off-leash play is the focus of this beautiful residential dog park; however, safety is of the utmost importance. As a result, it is mandatory for all owners to maintain ready access to a leash at all times. Yale Divinity School Dog Park, New Haven's most popular dog park, is pleased to offer entrance to their public dog play haven free of charge. 

The designated off-leash play area is comprised largely of grass, a substance which is kind to canine joints. Additionally, there is plenty of seating where owners can enjoy a quiet afternoon watching their dogs at play. Complimentary poop bags are provided, and all owners are expected to demonstrate responsibility for their pets by cleaning up after them. Bathrooms for public use are not housed on the grounds.

Yale Divinity School Dog Park does observe some strict rules. Due to noise complaints in the past by residents of the area, barking is strictly prohibited. Dogs exhibiting mounting behaviors must cease the action immediately or be asked to vacate the premises. It is also wise for dogs to be current on vaccinations and to be licensed with their respective city.
