Description

Blacklick Creek Greenway is a scenic 17.8-mile trail that goes from Reynoldsburg to Groveport. This trail is mostly paved, with just one small unpaved section. The trail follows scenic Blacklick Creek, and it passes by lots of beautiful parks. Pups are allowed to join you on this furrific trail on-leash.

The Greenway stretches from JFK Park at the northern end of the trail to Three Creeks Park at the southern end. Both ends of the trail offer parking, and JFK Park also has restrooms. If you choose to begin your walk at JFK Park, one of the first sights you’ll pass is Blacklick Woods Metro Park. This beautiful 643-acre park is home to a forest filled with beech-maple, white oak, ash, red maple, and hickory trees. The park also has a large picnic pavilion if you’d like to take a break and have a snack with your pup.

As you continue down the trail, you’ll get stunning views of Blacklick Creek and the forest surrounding the creek. You’ll also go through furtastic Portman Park, home to a wide variety of athletic fields and a large wooded area. After that, you’ll pass through Chatterton Park, which also has tons of forest trails to explore.

The last park you’ll hit is Three Creeks Park, where the Blacklick Creek Greenway ends. This park is home to the confluence of Alum Creek, Big Walnut Creek, and Blacklick Creek. There are plenty of benches in the park where you can relax and enjoy views of the water with your dog.

Blacklick Creek Greenway is a beautiful trail that takes you through fun parks and by a peaceful creek. Be sure to bring doggy bags and water for your pup with you on your hike, and have a great time trekking down this pawsitively amazing trail!

Wag! does not allow or encourage Pet Care Providers to bring dogs to parks.
