Moonridge, Lynnmere, Las Flores, Indian Creek Loop

The Moonridge, Lynnmere, Las Flores, Indian Creek Loop is a trail stitched together from four other trails. Together, they make a great loop for someone looking to really get a feel for Wildwood Canyon! You start by finding street parking near Avenue de los Arboles & Big Sky Drive. It's free! Then you go to the corner and look for the Moonridge Trailhead. 

Moonridge Trail will take you into Wildwood Canyon. This path leads up, up, and pup, and west to Lynnemere Trail. As this loop is cobbled together, there is a brief walk on city streets at the end. Lynn Road will take you to the trailhead for the Las Flores Trail. This will take you halfway home. Indian Creek Loop's farther point is the other trailhead for Las Flores Trail. Walk down either side of the Indian Creek Loop to return to the Moonridge Trail and complete your loop! 

This walk has some challenging portions, but the pay off is more than worth it. Seasonal wildflowers are common in the area, as are birds, squirrels, and deer. You have the chance to see many of your animal neighbors that skip the busier city streets! At the same time, you gain familiarity with one of Thousand Oaks' best parks. There's a lot to explore in Wildwood Canyon, and being able to make your own way through the park will help you create outings customized to your desired length and difficulty levels. 

Hiking shoes are a must for this climb. Stiff soles and plenty of support will keep your steps perky even after five miles. You should bring a doggie bowl to share water. Dogs are welcome on the trails, but have to be kept on a leash no more than six feet long. It keeps you safe, them safe, and the squirrels safe!
