Description

On South Eleanor Street in Chicago, Illinois, you will find Park Number 571, which has woofderful walking paths where you and your poochie can explore and get some exercise. Located right at the confluence of the South Fork Chicago River and the South Branch Chicago River where it meets the Bubbly Creek, there is a pawesome view of all three waterways where you can see a plethora of fishing, sailing, and commercial boats, as well as kayaks, canoes, and Dragon boats from the Ping Tom Park next door.

The main path starts at the first boathouse, and meanders in and around the perimeter of the park and its beautiful gardens and trees, which provide some shade on a sunny day. The path is wheelchair and stroller-furiendly. There are also benches and picnic tables scattered throughout the area, and trash bins along the trail, and throughout the park, so you can dispose of anything your pooch tries to leave behind.

Just as the river is a pupular place for boating and fishing, the path here are popular with walkers, joggers, bikers, and even skateboarders. It is especially crowded on nice weekends, so if you and Fido don’t like crowds, try going on a weekday. Park Number 571 has a little over three acres, and there are two boathouse facilities with seating areas, rowing training, fitness room, and restrooms.

You will notice that the park also has outdoor fitness equipment that you can use with your pup by your side. The path and the park are both lighted, so you and your pup are allowed to hang around after dark until they close at 11:00 PM. Also, the entire park has free Wi-Fi so you can take some selfies with your pooch and share them while you are still there.

For a pawrific adventure, you and your pup will love the Park No. 571 Trail!
