Description

If you are looking for an adventure with your pawtastic pup in the San Jose, California area, the place to be is the Santa Teresa County Park! With over 1600 acres, this is a hiking extravaganza for people and their pups!

There are more than 10 trails with additional spur loops which intertwine throughout the park. You can pick up the trailhead for the Mine Trail and the Pueblo Trail at the Pueblo Day Use Area on Bernal Road. From here, just pick a path and go! Let your pup’s nose set the course for your day of fun! Each visit will be different!

The Mine Trail meanders for 0.7 miles, then turns right onto the Hidden Springs Trail for 1.5 miles which will take you on a journey to Coyote Peak. The panoramic view of the area here includes mountains and the Santa Clara Valley. These trails are beautifully-maintained natural surface footpaths which meander and climb their way to the summit which offer you a reward of 360-degree views of the surrounding upland valleys.

Or take the Mine Trail from the entrance for 0.2 miles, turn left at the Bernal Hill Trail for 0.2 miles, where you can pick up the Joice Trail, and then head onto the Vista Loop for a total roundtrip of 1.1 miles! This is a scenic route and is rated as easy. No matter which way you go, you and Fido will not be disappointed.

The park offers picnic areas, archery ranges, and paved and unpaved trails, so there is something for everyone and every fitness level pup. Restrooms and water fountains are located at the trailhead. The park requires your pup to remain on leash here!

Santa Teresa County Park is you ticket to great hiking!
