Trap Park Trail #995

The Trap Park Trail is the perfect spot for a summer or spring outing to go for a picnic or scenic walk. You'll fall in love with the open meadows and a crystal clear creek that follows along the trail. Made of compacted soil, this trail remains pretty even and wide, allowing multiple hikers plenty of room for their pooches.

The trailhead is on a little rural lot that accommodates up to 11 vehicles, and is surrounded by tall trees. The entrance to the trail is on the south side of the lot. One of the best perks about this trail is that dogs do not need to be on a leash, but they do need to be under voice control at all times. At first, the trail wanders through a fellfield, a large field accompanied by smooth boulders, and after travelling past a switchback, the trail enters back into thick woods.

After a mile of walking through the trees, and at the halfway point of the trail, you'll come up upon Trap Park, an open field filled to the brim with tall meadows, wildflowers, scrubs, and the sounds of cascades from the creek. The open meadow is gorgeous to see in the summer or winter, and although the trail sticks to the west side of the meadow near the trees, the sounds of the creek can still be heard from the east side. The trail travels through the meadow for another mile and a half before stopping near the center, where hikers will come to the end of the trail. 

With no amenities along the way, hikers should bring any supplies, such as water and bags to pick up after their pups.

Scenic and quiet, the Trap Park Trail is a wonderful option to enjoy when you and Fido want to peaceful walk all to yourselves amidst meadows, mountains, and forests.
