Description

The Lynx Lake Recreation area is home to the Lynx Campground, only a quarter mile away from Lynx Lake in central Arizona. Lynx Lake is an ideal body of water for boaters and fishers, attracting more than 90,000 visitors each year. The lake is 55 acres in size, leaving lots of space for the water to be enjoyed.

The Campground is located on the west shore of Lynx Lake. Surrounding the campsite are ponderosa pines, different types of oak trees, and alligator juniper, providing shaded areas to relax in. During the summer, the campground is known to be filled with blooming wildflowers, making hikes and walks beautifully scenic and relaxing.

There are a total of 35 campsites located within the grounds, ranging from $18-$36. Some sites come with tent pads for tents to be easily set up and others have room for 1-2 tents. Two of the 35 sites come with lantern posts for you to use. Campsites are also equipped with a picnic table and fire-ring. Some are larger than others, allowing RVs and an additional vehicle to fit. A few sites do have steps, and others are fully accessible to all. Unfortunately, there are no RV hookups or dump stations available. Both flush toilets and vault toilets can be found within the grounds, as well as six facets to be used.

Lynx Lake Recreation houses a variety of trails for both hiking and alternative uses, such as dirt biking, mountain biking, and horseback riding. Boat and bike rentals are available. Trails are easily accessible from your site. The campground is pet-friendly, and so you are free to walk your dog through the trails with you, as long as you keep them on a leash at all times and tidy up after them!

While on your stroll, be on the lookout for the various animals located around Lynx Lake including bald eagles, great blue herons, or ospreys flying over the water. You may also see deer, mountain lions, bobcats, snakes, various birds, lizards, rabbits, coyotes, and skunks, making your hikes eventful and memorable.

If you're searching for a popular spot to enjoy the water and outdoors, check out Lynx Campground, giving you unlimited access to the popular Lynx Lake.
