Description

Make no bones about it, Silver Creek Campground near Cascade, ID is a furrific place to stay for those seeking serenity away from the hustle and bustle of modern life! That’s if you don’t mind sacrificing a few creature comforts, of course -- facilities at Silver Creek are fairly rustic, which means you won’t find any showers, electricity, or RV hookups.

But if you and your buddy are willing to "ruff" it a bit, you can reap the benefit of Silver Creek’s scenic location! Located in Boise National Forest’s aptly named Peace Valley, the campground sits surrounded by stately lodgepole pines. Not all sites are shaded though, so plan accordingly! You’ll be treated to the sound of the gently burbling Silver Creek as you drift off to sleep at night, and many sites have waterside views.

Silver Creek also offers several ways to stay. Not only are single and double sites available, but the campground also has two campsites that fit up to 100 people, making this a paw-fect choice for a family reunion or other get-together. Silver Creek is a popular place, so it pays to make your reservation early, particularly if you’ll need to stay at one of the campground’s accessible sites. There’s no entrance fee to the area, and sites start at $15.

You and your buddy are sure to sniff out something to do during your stay! Avid birders won’t need to go too far to find their entertainment -- red-tailed hawks and even the occasional bald eagle have been known to sweep through the campground, so grab your binoculars and perch yourself at one of the picnic tables provided with each site.

If casting a line is more your thing, you’re in luck -- not only is Silver Creek home to a not insignificant population of trout, but nearby Peace Creek and the Middle Fork of the Payette River provide fur-ther opportunities for anglers. Hound-dog hikers are also well catered for! A trailhead for the Peace Creek Trail is nearby, and this out-and-back route features a steep incline guaranteed to appeal to fitter furry friends. The trail makes for a nice walk at any time of the year, but it’s extra special in late spring and early summer, when the wildflowers along the route burst into a riot of color.

WiFi isn’t available at Silver Creek Campground, and cellular coverage can be hard to come by. You’ll find drinking water available on-site -- just remember to bring waste bags for your pupper, and have a grrr-eat trip!

Wag! does not allow or encourage Pet Care Providers to bring dogs to parks.
