Ashland Boyd County Dog Park

Keep your furry friend happy and healthy with regular exercise—let them run off their boundless energy at the Ashland Boyd County Dog Park! The brainchild of two local women, this fenced puppy playground provides a safe space for the city's canine residents and visitors to run, play, and socialize without the constraints of a leash. What a treat!

Situated near the Kentucky and West Virginia border, the Ashland Boyd County Dog Park is tucked away behind the Boyd County Middle School, at the end of West Summit Road. It can be hard to find if you haven't been there before, but once you do, you and Fido will be greeted by a spacious, grassy dog park where your four-legged pal can romp to their heart's content. There are two separate areas for large and small pooches, both of which are double-gated for extra security. Rest easy as your pup chases after their canine buddies, but always stay within view and voice contact, even while you're sitting on one of the park benches. 

The park also contains agility equipment for athletic doggos and trees that provide shade on sunny days. Doggie waste bag dispensers are available to make cleaning up after your charge easy, but don't forget to bring your own water and bowl as there is no water source. Leave the treats and food at home, though, as these are not allowed in the dog park. Visitors say that the area can get muddy if it has rained recently, so it would be a good idea to have wet wipes or a towel in the car as well. Keep in mind that all doggos must be current with their vaccinations and display license and rabies tags to use the facility.
