Chambliss Street Off Leash Dog Area

Chambliss Street Off-Leash Dog Area is a designated, unfenced area located within Chambliss Park and is just south of the tennis courts. When you're not in the doggie designated area, which is marked by poles with pawprints, please keep your dog on a leash. The dog area is in the corner of the park and sits along Chambliss Street and residential homes line the other side. Discourage excessive barking so your pup does not disturb local residents.

There are picnic benches for you to sit and talk with other owners, as well as plenty of mature trees to provide shade. The grass is lush and perfect for Fido to roll around in. The ground is mostly flat, so no one has to run or climb up hills. Be sure to keep an eye on your dog at all times and clean up after him with the bags you brought from home. You can dispose of it in one of several garbage cans in the park. You should also bring some water for Fido, in case he gets thirsty. 

The park also has baseball fields and a wooded area with a trail, but your dog must be on a leash anytime he is not in the designated dog area. It's crucial that your dog responds to your command, especially because this park has visitors who might not want to interact with dogs, and it is also along a street with traffic. 

Fido must be wearing his collar with ID tags and up-to-date vaccinations tags at all times. You should not take your dog to the park if your dog is in heat or aggressive. If a fight ever happens and someone or someone's dog is bitten, you must contact Alexandria Animal Control and all parties wait for them to come, unless immediate medical attention is necessary.
