If you want to camp in a beautiful lakeside campground, Hirz Bay is perfect for you! This pawesome campground is located on a hilltop that overlooks Lake Shasta. Hirz Bay is surrounded by Manzanita and oak trees that keep the area shady and cool, and pups are welcome to join you in the campground on-leash. The daily fee for this fun campground is $20.00.

While you’re at Hirz Bay, you’ll find plenty of great things to do with your furry best friend. If you and your dog love hiking together, check out the two-mile Hirz Bay Trail. This out-and-back trail begins at Hirz Bay Campground, and it takes you through a lovely wooded area and along Lake Shasta.

Hirz Bay is also just a short drive from beautiful Bailey Cove Trail. This 3.1-mile trail takes you in a loop around Lake Shasta, and it passes by a quiet, tranquil cove that’s the perfect place for a picnic. As you’re walking, you’ll also get amazing views of snow-capped Mount Shasta.

Hirz Bay Campground is also a good choice for water lovers. If you’re bringing a boat with you, there’s a boat launch about a mile away from Hirz Bay. If you’re a fisherman, there are tons of great freshwater fish in Lake Shasta, including Chinook salmon, trout, white sturgeon, and bass.

After you’ve finished your adventures for the day, you can relax and enjoy the amenities at Hirz Bay. Each campsite comes with a picnic table, a campfire ring, and a bear-proof locker you can use to store your food. Many campsites also offer great views of the lake and the Cascade Range mountains in the distance.

Hirz Bay is a fun campground that’s perfect for hikers, boaters, and fishermen. Remember to bring doggy bags so you can clean up after your dog while you’re camping, and enjoy spending time in this pawsitively amazing campground!
