The Lion King Dog Names

Many days, Poodle and owner do not cross paths from morning until the end of the day. Nala makes her own way from room to room and floor to floor of the home. Workers at the facility press the elevator button for her and she makes her way about on her own. She is a gift to residents and staff alike who all love her company. This Nala is like the Nala of Lion King, clever, strong and kind.

The original Lion King movie contains a number of iconic scenes. Anyone of the scenes set to music would be included on that list. Others include the moment when Mufasa roars and comes to Simba's rescue. Or when Rafiki convinces Simba to return home. Others are a little more infamous, like the scene where Mufasa is murdered. That scene still has the power to reduce a grown man to tears. Well done, Disney. The point is that the movie is iconic thanks to the powerful scenes that make every moment feel epic. The audience cannot help but feel part of Simba's journey back to the throne. 

All of this would have been lost if it weren't for that opening scene. We are introduced to the story by the shot of a sunrise and the sounds of singing. From there we are transported through the length of the pride lands as animals travel to be introduced to the newborn prince. It is a breathless sequence that entrances you from the moment you start watching. The music builds up to a crescendo as Rafiki walks out, holding a squirming bundle to his chest. He smiles down at the future king, and we catch a glimpse of the adorable little cub. Then, as the music reaches its climax, he raises the cub over his head in the now iconic pose. The animals roar in approval and your heart swells with pride. 

That is the opening sequence to one of the best movies ever created. It is a scene that we are familiar with and most of us cannot think of ways to improve it. From the opening shot to the Circle of Life, we would not change a thing. Most of us, that is, except for one dog owner who saw his chance to improve the opening sequence. He worked his magic and showed off his efforts on social media, where the video quickly went viral. In his version, we are still treated to the same epic elements, the music, the shots of wildlife. The only significant change is when instead of Rafiki, we see Andy. And when the crowning moment comes, he lifts up his squirming bundle, an adorable puppy by the name of Charlie. 

The music reaches its climax, the animals roar in approval, and Charlie blinks sleepily at the cheering hordes. He looks down at his subjects in boredom and wonders when he can nap again.
