No, Nubby is a handsome white Boxer who was born with only two legs. He weighed less than one pound when he was born.  He couldn't eat with the rest of his litter because he couldn't move himself into place at Mama's side. When he wasn't yet five hours old  they talked of putting him down.

But Nubby was given a second chance when Lou Robinson and her husband Mark Bowlin came to the rescue. Robinson was contacted because she's the founder of Warriors Educate About Abuse and the couple couldn't say no. They took the puppy home and bottle fed him and babied him and to their surprise he lived. 

But suddenly, three weeks later, he grew sick and weak. He didn't want to eat, he was constipated, and they saw milk bubbles coming out his nose.He was diagnosed with a deformity in his esophagus, a pocket where milk collected and was pushed back up. That caused pneumonia. He was placed in an oxygen tent and given potent antibiotics, but he still wasn't expected to make it. But Nubby was determined to live and he did. His foster parents were amazed at how happy he was, how he managed to accomplish the impossible and thrive.

Nubby turned one year old on January 9, 2018. He has his own Facebook and Instagram pages, and has made a couple of public appearances. He plans on making more as he gets older and his social skills improve. He hopes to help people with disabilities feel better about themselves and more capable of accomplishing greatness. He'd like to raise money for Warriors Educate About Rescue so more people can learn about helping other animals.

Nubby is sure to bring a smile to any face. His antics are hilarious as he romps with his best pal Rita, and he doesn't even realize he is different from other dogs. That's what makes Nubby so very special. He loves life, loves his family, and enjoys every minute of it and just romps past the challenges..

Nubby doesn't whine and complain. He doesn't just sit there trying not to do anything. He loves being active and involved. Nubby now has a wheelchair to help him get around on long treks but at home he likes to go au naturelle and can move amazingly fast.

It's been a long road but Nubby has made it and has much to teach us about the process of living. No matter what challenges we face, what are differences are, we can find a way to overcome them if we just set our mind to it. After all, Nubby did it. So can we.
