Introduction

Like the iconic cartoon The Simpsons, the often controversial South Park has been televised for nearly two decades. A creation of childhood friends Trey Parker and Matt Stone, the cartoons outlandish characters and plots are signature parts of the cartoon series. Often, it seems that the animated series is more offensive than not. However, often, the characters have an important point regarding each show's plot. After September 11, 2001, the show targeted Saddam Hussein, reducing him to a cowardly character with a high-pitched voice. The show also parodies many celebrities and politicians. Regardless of its tongue-in-cheek content, the show continues to draw audiences as there is a little truth to every parody.

South Park Dog Name Considerations

When it comes to naming one's dog something that is inspired by the controversial South Park cartoon, to be certain, one generally chooses a South Park-inspired name simply because the potential pup owner is a fan of the show. There is no one breed that deserves a South Park dog name over another! However, there are some dogs that have made appearances on the show over the years.

At the height of her popularity, Paris Hilton (or at least her caricature) made an appearance on South Park with her customary Chihuahua, Tinkerbell. Other neighborhood dogs have been featured on South Park. Clyde has a dog named Rex, and the town mutt is nicknamed Sylvester. Often they are of no particular breed, and they are often nameless (much like the other animals featured on the cartoon). However, one particular pup comes to mind when thinking of dogs featured on the South Park cartoon. Stan Marsh's dog, Sparky, is a unique dog, and he represents those who do not feel accepted by those around him. Sparky is, according to Stan, part Doberman and part wolf, and he is reputed to be the toughest dog in South Park. Consider one of these names for your new addition!
