Dog Names that Start with H

Hubert, the dog from the 1999 film The Duke, was a black and tan Coonhound. This British-Canadian film focuses on the dog's inheritance of a large Scottish country mansion. It all occurs after the duke of the manor dies, leaves his estate to the dog, and the butler's niece as his guardian. Of course, as per usual, there's two greedy relatives who have a difficult time coming to terms with the fact that a dog has inherited an entire estate. Not only must Hubert get accustomed to his new lavish home, he must also prevent the relatives from taking what's rightfully his!  The good news is this is no big problem for Hubert. He's an outgoing, friendly, and smart canine. He may be rich, but he still gets the paper and walks into his home with muddy paws. With his wit and down-to-earth charm, there's nothing Hubert can't take on – even if it means stopping a pet Poodle from marrying into the family. 

Another famous dog with a name that starts with an "H" is Hot Dog, the hilarious shaggy dog from the Archie comics. He was Jughead's beloved and faithful companion, a member of the gang, and the overall family mascot. Yes, Hot Dog was a major starring character, not just a supporting actor. And rightfully so, the dog was a genius. This sheepdog copied his owner's mannerisms, and boasted an amazing doghouse that featured advanced facilities on the inside, courtesy of some Space Canines. What other dog can lay claim to such an amazing home of his own? It's no wonder he's a bit of a sassy dog, albeit a little unintentionally. He may play fetch, but he's going to throw the object back, not just bring it. And when he gets told to hold a hose, he takes it literally, even going as far as taking it in the house. Just because his shaggy hair covers his eyes doesn't mean he doesn't know what's going on around him! One time, Archie even entered Hot Dog into a competition - a dog show. Competition was fierce, with police dogs, boxers, and those who could do Mexican hat dances. But what did Hot Dog do? Save a fellow competitor, get some reward kisses in the process, and knock over the punch bowl on himself. He may not have won any competitions, but he did win the girl, and that's a win.
